Arrival & identity check — South African law requires us to keep a guest register with a copy of each guest’s ID or passport. Please upload yours before you travel at opunest.co.za/verify, and bring the same document with you — the caretaker will check it at the door and let you in once he’s satisfied it’s you. It’s a quick look by a person, not a scan. Every adult staying overnight needs to be on the register.
Noise & conduct — This is a residential home — please avoid loud music or excessive noise. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The caretaker or landlord may stop excessive noise, including cancellation of your stay without refund.
Events & gatherings — This is not an event venue, but small gatherings (birthday dinners, baby showers, braais) may be allowed with prior approval. Please get permission before any event or before hosting visitors who are not registered guests; additional charges may apply and guests must clean up or arrange cleaning with the caretaker.
Guests — Only registered guests may stay overnight. No unregistered overnight guests are allowed.
No smoking or vaping — Smoking or vaping indoors, including bathrooms, is prohibited. A R1 500 fine applies for violations.
Water & cleaning — For long stays (6 nights or more), bedding is changed every 3 days to help save water. Let the caretaker know if you’d prefer no cleaning or linen change.
Electricity & energy — Please help us conserve electricity — switch off air-conditioners, lights and appliances when not in use or when leaving, and set air-conditioners to a moderate temperature.
Kitchen — Please don’t place plates or glasses in the sink, to avoid breakages.
Respect the property — Report any damage immediately, and please don’t rearrange or remove furniture or décor items.
Caretaker contact — Please avoid calling after 10 PM unless it’s an emergency.
Violations — Breaking the house rules may result in charges or cancellation of your stay without refund.
